Uncertainty as A Space for Discovery

Photographer Papa Akanni offers aesthetic splendor to viewers with the interplay of culture, history and fashion in his latest work. The project features three (3) looks; a contemporary african urban look, a tomboyish style and an ensemble reminiscent of golden age grecian fashion. Shot primarily against the backdrop of a visibly handheld pink cloth and against a larger backdrop of a dilapidated structure, this project layers fashion amidst the ruins of a house devastated during the Modakeke – Ile ife crisis researchers say spanned 151 years (1849-2000).
