Journeying through Nigeria, starting from Osun state through to Taraba state, I attempt to tell stories of people and places. The daily lives of people here are mundane, yet there is something reflective and captivating about it. It isn’t difficult to see how we have integrated culturally, since national integration. You see a school boy with his dog, a group of friends posed for a photo, or another man as strange to this town as you. And these sights, they remind you too, of home. Of a time, of a rite of passage. When possible, by language or demonstration, I ask for a portrait, for a smile. Other times, the stories are more personal. The space doesn’t allow you to take a photograph but you hope your eyes and memory holds true for you. In these times, the best you can do it rest your camera and take in the sight.
